135th British Open Championship 2006 Results
The 2006 British Open will be played over Royal Liverpool Golf Course from the 20th - 23rd July 2006.
The Open was last played here in 1967 when Roberto de Vicenzo was victorious. That said this will be the11th Time in History that this prestigious tournament has been played here with past winners including the likes of Bobby Jones and American Walter Hagen.

On an emotional final day at Royal Liverpool, Tiger Woods turned aside all comers and beat Chris DiMarco by two strokes to win his second consecutive British Open.

2005 and 2006 Defending Champion Tiger Woods had a nice tune up at the Western Open. Woods missed his first cut at the 2006 U.S Open, which was the first tournament he played in after the passing of his father Earl Woods.

134th British Open Championship 2005

Little needs to be said about The Old Course at St. Andrews, which will host the Open for the 27th
time in 2005. With more than 600 years of history, it is golf's heart and soul. Although visitor times are always in short supply, there are a number of ways they may be secured. Again, planning a year or more ahead with a little professional help is a necessity.

133rd British Open Championship 2004

Just around the corner is the highly esteemed Royal Troon Golf Club, scheduled to host the 133rd Open in 2004, the eighth time it will have been so honored. There are some that say this is the most testing of all Open venues, but you be the judge.

Troon, Ayrshire, Scotland will host the 133rd Open Championship in 2004 from the 15th - 18th July.

Location: Royal Troon Golf Club

Dates: 7/12 - 7/18/04

Defending champion British Open

American Ben Curtis won the 132nd Open Golf Championship at Royal St George’s when he held the world’s best golfers at bay by shooting a final round of 69 for a one under par total of 283, securing a one stroke victory over European Tour Members Thomas Björn and Vijay Singh. Both Björn and Singh came so close to winning the title but the golfing Gods were not on their side.

The course has been recreated beautifully with every bunker and hill modeled to perfection - you can even see the pro-shop from the 18th green at St Andrews. By American standards the courses look rather desolate, but links courses don't have an abundance of trees, and with all the old buildings, spectator stands, camera trucks and cherry pickers, you soon get carried away with the atmosphere created by competing on these historic courses.

There are five modes of play including, of course, the full British Open tournament. A nice touch is the 4 hole play-off then sudden death to decide the result if there is a tie after 72 holes. The Royal Troon was also the scene of the first four-hole play-off in Open history, when Mark Calcavecchia defeated Wayne Grady and Greg Norman in 1989.

When the 133rd Open returns to Royal Troon, it will be the 8th time the competition has been played on the course. The first was held here in 1923, Arthur Havers who finished fourth the previous year at St. Andrews, was to come out on top this year. More 2004 British Open Golf Info
