Previously known as the Frys Electronics Open, 2019 Safeway Open will feature a few little tweaks to this beautiful course.

The Safeway Open is a PGA Tour Fall Series golf tournament. First staged in 2007 as the Fry's Electronics Open at Grayhawk Golf Club's Raptor Course in Scottsdale, Arizona, it adopted its current name in 2008, and moved to CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, California effective in 2010. On its inception, the purse was been US$5 million.

During the 2015 PGA Golf Season the Open changed its venue from CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin to Silverado Country Club, North course in Napa, California.

Safeway Open golf tournament is part of the PGA's Fall Series and will be televised all four days on The Golf Channel. The tournament will feature a full 132-player field and offers a $6 million purse; with $1080,000 going to the Safeway Open winner.

2013 Open Winner

Jimmy Walker earned his first ever PGA Tour victory with a 5-under 66 in the final round of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at CordeValle Golf Club. Walker finished the tournament at 17-under, two strokes ahead of Vijay Singh.

2012 Open Winner

Jonas Blixt from Sweden, won the 2012 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open for his first PGA Tour title, holing a 4-foot par putt on the final hole for a one-stroke win at CordeValle Golf Club. Blixt became third PGA Tour rookie to get a PGA victory this season, closing with a 3-under 68 for a 16-under 268 total. He earned $900,000 in the Fall Series event.

2011 Open Winner

On the sixth sudden-death playoff hole, Bryce Molder made a 6-foot birdie putt to pocket the victory at the 2011 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. He earned $900,000.It was the longest playoff on tour this year. Molder shot 65 on Saturday, 64 on Sunday and navigated the six playoff holes in 4-under-par. That's a grand total of 17-under over 42 weekend holes - without a bogey.

2010 Open Winner

Rocco Mediate wins 2010 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Mediate, a 47-year-old good guy with a chronically bad back and a permanent smile, didn't just win the PGA Tour's event at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., he made it compelling. Not only was the win Mediate's first since the 2002 Greater Greensboro Open, but it also secured his PGA Tour card for the next two years. Mediate, who now has six career wins. Mediate had just rolled in an 18-foot birdie putt on No. 16 to grab a share of the lead. For the first 15 holes of the final round, Mediate was 5 over, turning a three-shot lead into a one-stroke deficit.

2009 Open Winner

This was the second straight year the Open was decided in a playoff. Matteson set a new PGA TOUR 36-hole scoring record with consecutive 9-under 61’s in the second and third rounds, and held off young guns Rickie Fowler and Jamie Lovemark with a birdie on the second playoff hole to earn his second career PGA TOUR victory (his first win came in the 2006 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas).

2008 Open Winner

The 2008 Open saw Cameron Beckman winning in a playoff over Kevin Sutherland. Beckman dominated the Raptor Course for a final round score of 63 to force a playoff with Sutherland, and made par on the 2nd playoff hole to secure the victory and the $900,000 first place prize. Beckman finished the tournament with an 18-under-par score of 262 for the tournament.
