The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic is introduced as the New PGA TOUR Fall Series Event.

The Asia Pacific Classic Malaysia is the first tournament sanctioned by the PGA Tour in Southeast Asia. CIMB Group has signed on as title sponsor for the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia, the first-ever PGA TOUR sanctioned event in Southeast Asia.

CIMB Group has signed on as title sponsor for the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia. The tournament will see a top-class international field of 40 players competing for a $6 million prize purse, with $1 million going to the winner.

The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic Invitational Regional Qualifier is supported by the Professional Golf Association of Indonesia, Singapore Professional Golfers' Association, and the Professional Golf Association of Thailand.

The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia also announced that the tournament will carry Official World Golf Ranking points. With this, it will join a select group of world class tournaments in the region bearing Official World Golf Ranking system points.

All 40 golfers will be playing all four rounds of golf, as there is no cut to make. This is expected to be one of the most attended events in the history of Malaysian sports, as Kuala Lumpur is ready for some of the best golfers in the world to take their aim at the best course that Malaysia has to offer.
